Cerro Las Tunas Lodge

CERRO LAS TUNAS

Cerro las Tunas is a 18.000 acre agricultural and stockbreeding farm located in the South-East of the Buenos Aires Province, on the northern slope of the Pillahuinco Sierras, part of the mountain range known as Sierra de la Ventana.

In the heart of the sierras, lies "Cerro las Tunas Lodge" peacefully nestled within 120 acres of lovingly manicured gardens, with a large in-ground swimming pool, and the great grillroom for the typical asados.

Cerro las Tunas offers an exclusive closed hunting lodge, unique in Argentina. Hunters from around the world arrive at our Estancia lured by the superior quality of our Red Stags, Himalayan Thars, Mouflons, Black bucks and the distinct mountain range geography that makes each hunting experience exceptional and thrilling. As breeders of our own game, we guarantee top quality trophies with an average score of 350 to 450 SCI pts. Also hunters can enjoy the pursuit of Big game and Wingshooting mixed bag in the same day, each and every day.

Big game Hunting:

The adventure unravels in a setting of hills, ravines, rocky sierras, deep valleys and crystal water creeks, 2300 ft. above sea level, in the heart of the humid Pampa region. Cerro las Tunas peculiar geography demands the use of effective ambushing techniques. The landscape offers no shelter for the game and the hunter has nowhere to hide, resulting in long silent prying as well as long distance shooting. During the rut season, in the heart of the winter, it is cold and with an average amount of snowfall. Nevertheless, the reward for enduring such harsh terrain and adverse weather conditions is majestic: red stags of the highest scores, exceptional Fallow and Axis deer, Blackbuck, Himalayan Thars, Wild boars, Mouflon sheep, four horned sheep, wild goats and rams.

The Wingshooting:

Duck hunting over decoys, morning and afternoons. Morning hunts depart the lodge in the dark but after a hearty breakfast.

Drives vary depending on water conditions but range from ten to forty five minutes.

Hunters are placed in dry blinds, or large dry, sunken "buckets" of the style of an individual pit blind, or on platform-pallet blinds.

Shooting over decoys starts at first light and continues until 10 am or after. Most days, duck hunters return to the lodge for lunch and a siesta before afternoon departures at about 3 pm for evening duck hunts.

Evening hunts last until dark.
